In celebration of Father’s Day, Mystic Aquarium is offering fathers free admission with a full-paid child admission Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16. Among the aquarium’s 5,000 animals are over 30 lined seahorses, a species found in the Long Island Sound. Male seahorses could be considered one of nature’s greatest fathers because they carry and “birth” young.

Boys or girls – waddle they be? The results are in and on Thursday, June 6 at 11 a.m., Mystic Aquarium will announce the genders of its two African penguin chicks, Purple Red and Purple Gray. The genders were determined by DNA testing because male and female African penguins do not differ in appearance.

Mystic Aquarium is partnering with like-minded environmental organizations to present its World Oceans Day Celebration on Saturday, June 8 and World Oceans Day Beach Cleanup on Sunday, June 9. Aquarium guests and beach cleanup participants will learn the critical role oceans play in our everyday lives and simple ways protect, conserve and advocate for our nation’s waterways.
