Roundtrip travel expenses to Groton/Mystic Connecticut (up to $500/student; $2000 for those students coming from Alaska/Hawaii). Housing is covered by the program. Further, each student gets a total stipend of $600 per week (for living and food expenses). All program related transportation will be provided.
The Mystic Aquarium REU takes place early June 2020; start dates TBD for a 10 week period.
Meal plan options are available at the College. There are also a number of local restaurants and eating establishments nearby.
A car is useful for exploring the area on the weekends and the evenings. Transportation will be provided for all REU related events. The UConn van service will provide daily roundtrip transportation from Mitchell College to UConn Avery Point where the research activities will take place. Van transportation will also be provided for weekly professional development activities, seminars, shadows, etc. to and from the Mystic Aquarium. Mitchell College is approximately 9 miles from UConn Avery Point. Avery Point is approximately 9 miles from Mystic Aquarium. Public transportation is available to popular local attractions.
