Mystic, Conn. (September 9, 2020): Education has taken on a decidedly different look during the COVID-era. With home schooling and hybrid learning models becoming the norm, Mystic Aquarium has worked to introduce creative solutions for students and parents alike. Already, a new, full-day academic enrichment program is available for students in Kindergarten through Grade 7. And today, the team of educators at the Aquarium announced expansion of their renowned internship program to include a newly reimagined comprehensive program for High School students.

The High School Internship Program will leverage the unique assets of the Aquarium to introduce students to a variety of careers and pathways to success. In this 8-week program, specifically designed for students in grades 9 to 12, students will work and study alongside Aquarium professionals.

“We have experienced educators, world-class animal care professionals and a wealth of experience delivering robust, enriching and rewarding internship opportunities,” said Kelly Matis, Vice President of Education and Conservation. “We know that families are keenly focused on unique and engaging educational solutions for students at all grade levels, and we are proud to offer this prestigious program to enhance and expand career development.”
