Red & White Lights Honor those on the Front Lines of COVID-19 Crisis
Mystic, Conn. (April 23, 2020): In honor of those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mystic Aquarium has illuminated its iconic façade in red and white. Like others around the country, the lights at the Aquarium are a show of solidarity for the emergency workers who are providing treatment to those infected with the virus.
“We want first responders and medical professionals to know that we are incredibly grateful for the sacrifices they are making to care for our community,” said Roslyn Gilhuly, Senior Vice President of External Relations. “It’s just one small gesture but with a tremendous sentiment behind it.”
The red and while lights are illuminated from 7pm and 10pm each evening.
“We are incredibly proud, today and every day, to be a part of this community. We hope that everyone on the front lines – from medical professionals at Backus and L+M Hospitals and first responders – to those working hard to keep essential businesses like grocery stores and pharmacies open – understands how much their efforts mean to us here at Mystic Aquarium.” Mystic Aquarium is currently closed as part of the ongoing global effort to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
