Details - Marine Mammals of the Arctic Live Webcasts
Join Immersion Learning in exploring the Arctic and the marine mammals that call it home during live webcasts on May 18 to 20. The vast and relatively unexplored Arctic is undergoing many changes, and researchers around the globe are working with native communities to gather information on how these changes might impact marine mammals and the humans who depend on them for survival. Watch interviews with some of these scientists, as well as footage of Arctic animals in their habitat, seal rescue and rehabilitation and interviews with beluga whale trainers. You'll also meet the three winners of Immersion's first-ever Goldfish Training Contest, who will each serve as an “apprentice beluga whale trainer” during one day of webcast programs.
The 30-minute Marine Mammals of the Arctic webcasts can be viewed at immersionlearning.org or in the Immersion Theater in the Challenge of the Deep exhibition at the following times:
May 18: 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m.
May 19: 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 p.m.*
May 20: 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m.
*The 6 and 7 p.m. webcasts will not be shown in the Immersion Theater.
