Description

Join colleagues from the region to learn creative ways to bring Science to your After School Program.

Presenters:

Katie Cubina, Vice President of the Immersion Learning program at Mystic Aquarium.  Immersion Learning is a fun, hands-on, science enrichment program for kids ages 9-14 based on real ocean research and exploration. Learn about how you can use Immersion activities in your afterschool or summer camp programs, and try your hand at a sample activity that you can conduct with youth.

Dale McCreedy, Ph.D., Director of Gender and Family Learning Programs at The Franklin Institute.  Learn effective strategies for engaging children in collaborative, creative, hands-on science activities and obtain resources for encouraging intergenerational learning, linking home and afterschool.

Location: Kitchings Classroom at Mystic Aquarium
