School Group Visits

School Group Guidelines
• Must have 10 or more paying guests
• A reservation must be made 48 hours in advance
• All guests must arrive and enter the gates at the same time
• Only one payment transaction for the entire group (guests can not pay individually)

School Group Rates
Applies to public and private schools/colleges recognized by the Board of Education
• Adults $14.00
• Children (ages 3-17) $11.00
• Children (ages 2 and under) Free

Free Chaperone Ratios
• Pre-K to 3rd Grade: 5:1
• 4th to 12th Grade: 10:1
• College: 20:1

Programs for Schools

 All ocean exploration programs can be conducted at Mystic Aquarium or right in your own classroom or library. Advance registration is required for all programs. To inquire about one of these programs, please complete our online Teacher and School Group Registration Form. After you complete the form, a reservations staff member will contact you to obtain payment and finalize your reservation.

Ocean Discovery

(Grades 6-adult) Fee: At Mystic Aquarium: $3 per student; Traveling Program: $240 for two classes, $115 for third class, $85 for fourth class. All programs are 45 minutes.
We’re more than just a place to see aquatic animals. Under the leadership of Dr. Robert Ballard, the Institute for Exploration has pioneered the emerging fields of deep-sea archaeology and deep-sea geology using deep submergence vehicles capable of pushing the boundaries. Join us as we learn more about the fascinating world of deep ocean exploration!

Exploring the Titanic

(Grades 3-6) At Mystic Aquarium: $3 per student; Traveling Program: $240 for two classes, $115 for third class, $85 for fourth class. All programs are 45 minutes.
Throughout this multi-disciplinary class, students will learn the history of the ill-fated Titanic, the origins of icebergs and the amazing technologies used to discover and resurvey the wreck. Engaging hands-on activities focused on the Titanic are woven into the class, which incorporate well into social studies curriculum. Cap off the class at Mystic Aquarium with a visit to the Ocean Exploration Center and Titanic - 12,450 Feet Below.
