Entering grades 2-5

Endangered Species Camp | Entering grades 2-5 – This action packed, weeklong camp will have your camper learning about some of the most endangered animals on the planet including sharks, penguins, sea turtles and frogs.   Campers will complete hands-on activities to learn all about these fascinating species including their unique adaptations, the difficulties they face and how each person can help!  Campers will have the opportunity to investigate the pond on the Springfield College campus, speak with animal care experts directly from Mystic Aquarium and meet some of the fascinating animals the aquarium cares for every day.

Schedule:  This camp will meet on the Springfield College campus Monday-Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm.

Entering grades 6-8

Mystic Aquarium Adventure | Entering grades 6-8 – This camp is specially designed for youth who love animals, the aquatic world and environmental conservation.  The camp will meet on the Springfield College campus on Monday & Tuesday where campers will embark on a hands-on journey of exploration to learn about unique aquatic animals, how they live in their various habitats and how they are adapting to environmental change. On Wednesday campers will travel to the Connecticut coastline for a beach exploration and ecosystem study then to Mystic Aquarium for an overnight adventure.  At the aquarium, campers will have the opportunity for close up encounters with animals from around the world, participate in behind the scenes tours and sleep amongst the aquariums beautiful exhibits before returning to Springfield College for pick-up at noon on Thursday.

Note: all drop off and pick up will occur at Springfield College.  For the aquarium trip the group will travel together by bus to and from Mystic, CT.

Schedule:  Monday & Tuesday 9:00am-4:00pm, Wednesday 9:00am-overnight-Thursday 12:00pm.

Entering grades 9-12

Animal Science | Entering grades 9-12 – In this camp teens will learn about animal care and science through the investigation of case studies of animals from Mystic Aquarium including beluga whales, penguins, seals, reptiles and fishes.  This camp will meet on the Springfield College campus on Monday & Tuesday where the teens will participate in activities to learn all about the animals in the aquariums care including the work to rescue, rehabilitate and release stranded animals. Campers will also have the opportunity to learn about the wide variety of careers at Mystic Aquarium and beyond in animal health and veterinary science. On Wednesday campers will travel to the Connecticut coastline for a beach exploration and ecosystem study then to Mystic Aquarium for an overnight experience.  At the aquarium, campers will have the opportunity to participate in behind the scenes tours to see where the animal care and veterinary staff work every day.  Campers will return to Springfield College for pick-up at noon on Thursday.
