Mystic Aquarium Prepares for Hurricane Irene

With six outdoor exhibits housing a variety of animals, Mystic Aquarium is preparing for Hurricane Irene. As severe weather approaches, stingrays from the “Ray Touch Pool,” 30 African penguins from the “Roger Tory Peterson Penguin Pavilion” and hundreds of exotic birds from “Birds of the Outback” will be moved inside. Marine mammals, including sea lions, seals and beluga whales, will continue to remain outdoors in their secure habitats. The seal currently being rehabilitated in the outdoor Seal Rescue Clinic will be moved inside.

Mariachi Serenades Juno During a Wedding

During a July wedding at Mystic Aquarium, "Los Trovadores de America," a Connecticut mariachi band, serenaded 9-year-old Juno, our youngest and most curious beluga whale. After a guest recorded the performance with his cell phone and posted it on YouTube, the video went viral and The Today Show, CNN and many others shared this moment with millions.

Nautilus Live Theater Takes Guests Aboard Ship of Exploration
