Dr. Robert Ballard's Latest Discoveries Featured on 60 Minutes on Sunday, November 29

The cameras of 60 MINUTES go where no man has ever been before to capture the moment ocean explorer Robert Ballard’s expedition discovers a 7th Century shipwreck 1,500 feet below the surface.  Lara Logan reports from the famous oceanographer’s ship, Nautilus, as the vessel searches the waters at the juncture of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas on 60 MINUTES Sunday, Nov. 29 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television network.

Sea Research Foundation and UConn Collaborate on New "DNA, Red Tide and the Sea" Exhibit

MYSTIC, Conn. – What is DNA? How is it connected to red tide? And why is it important to know? “DNA, Red Tide and the Sea,” an interactive new exhibit at Mystic Aquarium, answers all these questions while giving guests a look at our oceans on a whole new (microscopic) level.

Sea Research Awarded $34,255 in Grants from Long Island Sound Futures Fund

MYSTIC, Conn.– Top federal and state officials from the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, New York Department of Environmental Conservation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today awarded $1,011,878 in Long Island Sound Futures Fund grants to local governments and community organizations. The grants fund 33 projects that improve water quality, restore habitat, enhance living resources and educate and involve the public. Sea Research Foundation, Inc. received two grants totaling $34,255 to support a conservation-focused school program in Norwich and New Haven and aquarium event.

Sea Research Foundation Announces Educator of the Year

MYSTIC, Conn. – Sea Research Foundation, Inc. has named the eight-teacher team at Roosevelt Middle School and S.T.E.M. Academy in New Britain Educators of the Year. The team was honored during Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration’s annual Educators Open House on October 8.
