Dr. Tracy Romano of Sea Research Foundation Selected to Serve on Discussion Panel at Women of Innovation Awards on January 20

MYSTIC, Conn. – As more women enter the sciences, and these careers increasingly become the careers of tomorrow, women from across Connecticut will be discussing challenges and opportunities for women in these fields at the Connecticut Technology Council’s sixth annual Women of Innovation Awards Program on January 20 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.

Mystic Aquarium Sends Rehabilitated Seal to New Home at the Detroit Zoo

MYSTIC, Conn. – After undergoing four months of rehabilitation at Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration’s Seal Rescue Clinic, a rescued male harp seal was transported to his new, permanent home at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak, Mich., today.

Immersion Learning Holds Goldfish Training Contest for Students

MYSTIC, Conn. - Everyone knows whales and sea lions can be trained, but few realize that a variety of fish, including goldfish, can learn behaviors, too. Immersion Learning™, a division of Sea Research Foundation, is challenging kids across the nation to show off their animal training skills during its first-ever Goldfish Training Contest. The top three entrants will win the opportunity to be a beluga trainer for a day at Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration during Immersion’s “Marine Mammals of the Arctic” live webcasts February 10 to 12.
