Mystic Aquarium

The Polar Express 4-D Experience premieres at Mystic Aquarium's 4-D Theater on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, and shows daily through Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.

This holiday favorite comes to life with the visual drama of a 3-D film and a variety of 4-D sensory effects, including wind, snow and scents.

On Nov. 23, guests are invited to celebrate the premiere from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a special visit from Santa, free hot chocolate and free cookies. Children can write a letter of holiday wishes to Santa and sit on his lap for photos. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera.

The Polar Express 4-D Experience runs 14 minutes and is based on the inspiring and beloved Caldecott Medal children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg. When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.
