Connecticut residents receive discounted admission on June 9 Print E-mail

Sea Research Foundation's Mystic Aquarium will celebrate Connecticut Office of Tourism’s  eighth annual Connecticut Open House Day on June 9 by offering special general admission rates to Connecticut residents when they mention Connecticut Open House Day.

With more than 200 organizations offering incentives during this one-day event, the statewide celebration is designed to build awareness of Connecticut’s cultural and tourism assets among residents.

With proof of Connecticut residency, Mystic Aquarium guests will receive discounted general admission rates of $23 for adults ($6 off), $21 for seniors ($5 off) and $17 for children ($4 off). This offer only applies to general admission and cannot be combined with any other offer.

As New England’s hands-on aquarium, guests can touch a shark, cradle a crab, feed stingrays and exotic birds, and experience the aquarium’s newest interactive attractions, Titanic – 12,450 Feet Below and SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D, a state-of-the-art 3-D film and interactive environment that’s fun for the entire family.

June 9 also marks Mystic Aquarium’s World Oceans Day Celebration. Salute our ocean planet and learn simple ways to help protect the environment with fun, informative, hands-on activities (included with admission), and learn about the vital role the world’s oceans have in sustaining our planet. The party will continue by the coast on June 10 at 10 a.m. with a beach cleanup at Bluff Point State Park in Groton, Conn. Participants will help clean the beach, talk to marine biologists and look for Long Island Sound inhabitants.
