Explorer Kenny Broad will lead vicarious adventurers into the mysterious flooded caves of the Bahamas as his epic tales conclude the “Faces of Our Planet” series.

They’re neither black holes nor the Bermuda Triangle, but they’re just as mysterious and considered among the most hazardous places for adventurers to dive. Join Kenny Broad at the Garde Arts Center on March 26 at 4 p.m. as he shares his epic tales of the largely unexplored the flooded caves, or “blue holes,” of the Bahamas, a potential treasure trove of scientific knowledge.

Recently, National Geographic Emerging Explorer Kenny Broad, a diver and advocate for freshwater conservation, led a scientific expedition to these dangerous but fascinating blues holes, making discoveries with implications for fields as diverse as microbiology, archaeology, and even astrophysics.

This event concludes the of the second season of the “Faces of Our Planet” series, created by Sea Research Foundation, National Geographic Society and the Garde Arts Center in 2010 to reveal the mysteries and discoveries of the world’s human, animal and geographic faces. The five-part series consists of film, live performance and multimedia presentations – all at the nationally-recognized Garde Arts Center at 325 State St., New London.

Broad will be available for a meet and greet with guests at the conclusion of the event.
