We’ve put live sea stars, crabs and lobsters on the guest list as we celebrate our ocean planet with a Sea Party on February 19 at the Garde Arts Center, and you are invited to schmooze with them.

Sea Party is a family-friendly ocean celebration with special aquatic visitors from Mystic Aquarium and a sea-themed crafts show, leading up to a special viewing the Disneynature film “OCEANS” on the Garde’s giant movie screen. Two-legged, air-breathing guests will have the opportunity to touch and learn about live sea creatures before enjoying the magnificent and captivating feature film.

In Disneynature’s “OCEANS,” stunning images await as guests journey in to the depths of a wonderland filled with mystery, beauty and power. “OCEANS” is an unprecedented look at the lives of these elusive deep-water creatures through their own eyes. Incredible state-of-the-art-underwater filmmaking will take breaths away as the audience migrates with whales, swims alongside a great white shark and races with dolphins at play. Filled with adventure, comedy and drama, “OCEANS” is a fascinating, unforgettable and thought-provoking experience.

This event is part of the second season of the “Faces of Our Planet” series, created by Sea Research Foundation, National Geographic Society and the Garde Arts Center to reveal the mysteries and discoveries of the world’s human, animal and geographic faces. The five-part series consists of film, live performance and multimedia presentations – all at the nationally-recognized Garde Arts Center at 325 State St., New London.
