| Meet some new friends, both cool and creepy, during Mystic Aquarium’s Reptile Week Saturday, April 13 through Sunday, April 21. Experience Scales & Tails, a new, hands-on reptile encounter featuring baby alligators, bearded dragons, ball pythons, jeweled lacertas and more. Participants can chat with an educator, touch a reptile, hear fun facts and get their photo taken. Do you know the difference between crocodiles and alligators? Can you tell if an animal is a reptile or an amphibian? From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, Mystic Aquarium guests will learn all about these captivating critters during themed activities and demonstrations, including scavenger hunts, matching games and our spine-tingling bug buffet. Thinking about having a reptile as a pet? View a variety of reptile habitats and learn what it takes to care for them. Reptile Week and Scales & Tails are included with Mystic Aquarium membership and admission. Published March 13, 2013 Note: Consistent with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations, children age 5 and under, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals should not touch reptiles. All people engaging in reptile touch programs should wash/disinfect hands following the contact. Dim lights |
