Implementing Student-Led Field Study Experiences
Featuring Guest Presenters from the Connecticut Geographic Alliance and the Integration of Google Earth
Saturday, May 10, 2014
Interested in getting your students out into the field but not sure how or where? Come join Mystic Aquarium and the Connecticut Geographic Alliance (CGA) to explore how to conduct a site survey of your local area using Google Earth and resources that will encourage your students to ask questions, design, and carry out a field study of their own. In partnership with the CGA, Mystic Aquarium staff will lead educators through an integrated approach, incorporating geography, history and environmental science. This is also great for educators using JASON Learning’s Resilient Planet curriculum. The morning will be spent at Mystic Aquarium, followed by a journey out into the field. Educators should bring a laptop and will need to provide their own transportation to the field study site (TBA) from the Aquarium. The workshop will end at the field study site.
