Freshwater Ecosystem Exploration
Thursday, May 30m 4:00pm-6:30pm
Cost: Generously funded by Pfizer and the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation, the workshop is free of charge but registration is required.

Join us for this unique two-day opportunity to explore freshwater ecosystems and discover how to integrate freshwater topics into your science curriculum.  Educators in this workshop will conduct water quality tests to measure parameters such as dissolved oxygen, pH, nitrates, and phosphates, and utilizing microscopes to identify river flora and fauna.  Once we have completed our tests in the lab, we will head on a trip to a freshwater river area to see firsthand how lessons can come to life in the field to leave your students with a greater understanding and appreciation of freshwater ecosystems and the factors that affect them.
