February 17, 2016 Dear Friend: Around this time of year I feel a bit like the operator of a pizza shop with the sign in the window, “You’ve tried the rest, now try the best.” The Day newspaper has just announced that Mystic Aquarium has been nominated for 2017 Best Area Attraction.  We are very proud of this nomination and also very proud to announce that our own catering company, Ocean Blue Catering, has been nominated for 2017... Dear Friend: The other day brought a serious ethical dilemma. One of my sons plays on a basketball team within the Stonington Community Center, affectionately known as “The COMO”. Mystic Aquarium is very supportive of COMO as an important community resource. They do so much good work beyond sports, including after school youth programs and many charitable endeavors. So apparently The COMO named a basketball team in honor of... MORE »

Dear Friend: Cheryl Miller Photos Recognized by Association of Zoos and Aquariums A few years ago I asked long time member of our team, Cheryl Miller, to assist me temporarily as manager of the President’s Office. Cheryl’s passions are, respectively, animals, photography and working in marketing. It was a hard sell, but I asked her to take on the role of Director of Operations for the President’s Office permanently and she agreed... MORE »
