Grand Cayman Blue Iguana

In 2002, there only 10 to 25 of these beautiful blue iguanas left in the wild! Thanks to conservation efforts their numbers have reached 750 individuals and have recently been downgraded from Critically Endangered to Endangered.  Click here to see pictures of Mystic's resident blue iguana and to learn more about these rebounding reptiles.

African Penguin

African Penguins

More than 25 African penguins make their home in the Roger Tory Peterson Penguin Exhibit at the aquarium. These fascinating animals are the only species of penguin to live and breed on the rocky beaches of Namibia and South Africa but disappearing at an alarming rate.  Click here to learn more about African penguins, issues threatening their survival and what you can do to help!
