|Nautilus Live Theater|
Dr. Robert Ballard’s deep-sea explorations come alive at Mystic Aquarium's Nautilus Live Theater. This 50-seat, state-of-the-art theater space transports visitors to the unknown depths of the world’s oceans. Join Dr. Ballard and the Corps of Exploration aboard the Exploration Vessel (E/V) Nautilus as they explore Earth’s last great uncharted territory.
When the E/V Nautilus is at sea, telepresence technology brings live video and two-way ship-to-shore communications to the Nautilus Live Theater. You’ll have a front-row seat as the Corps of Exploration searches for undiscovered natural wonders and lost chapters of human history in the deep-water regions of the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Caribbean Sea.
2014 Nautilus Live Show Schedule through Columbus Day: 12:30pm, 2:00pm
The Unknown Ocean: This interactive theater experience reveals how modern sonar technology accurately maps the deep ocean and fascinating biological life that is discovered using remotely operated vehicles, then brought to the surface via telepresence.
The Unknown Ocean: 11:00am, 3:00pm
There is free limited seating for all shows on a first-come, first-serve basis. Schedule subject to change. Please see posted times upon arrival.
The Nautilus Live Theater is located in the Ocean Exploration Center exhibition, the world’s only exhibit space centered around Dr. Ballard’s deep-sea exploration and discoveries.
NOTE: The Nautilus Live Theater will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 7-8, 2014.
You can also follow the expeditions on NautilusLive.org, featuring live video feeds, status updates detailing current expedition activities and discoveries, maps showing the ship’s location and blog posts from Nautilus team members.
