Part-time, Non-exempt, Temporary

Job Summary:   

Demonstrate excellent representation of the aquarium every day through a positive, can do attitude and a teamwork focused work ethic.  Greet and welcome guests.  Sell general and group admissions and memberships.  Keeps track of cash, process credit card sales, fill out group sale froms, and record sales on computer. 1-5 days a week with a minimum of one weekend day. Willing to work holidays, school vacations, and busy season. 

Requirements:  

Must possess a can do attitude and a teamwork focused work ethic.  Must be willing to consistently provide guest service above and beyond the expected. High school diploma or equivalent. Basic math skills, cash handling experience and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.  Computer skills desired.  Must enjoy working with the public.  Professional demeanor with the ability to be a team player.  Must be organized and detailed- oriented.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must be able to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift at least 25lbs.

Responsibilities:                                                        

  • Maintain proper uniform and exemplary aquarium representative at all times.
  • Receive and process membership and admission sales for the general public and groups.
  • Responsibly handle cash, checks and credit card receipts.
  • Balance all monetary items within set standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on all general inquiries, including but not limited to coupons, special discounts,promotions, and programs in a knowledgeable, friendly manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on all aquarium admission policies.
  • Greet and direct all guests with courtesy, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Ensure the admissions equipment, booths and entry areas are kept clean, safe and orderly at all times.
  • When necessary assist with crowd control at admissions and entry areas.
  • Staff after hour special events as scheduled.
  • Attend regularly scheduled Admissions and departmental meeting.
  • Maintain expertise in Aquarium evacuation and emergency plans and respond appropriately.
  • Report for work punctually, without excessive absences or request time off.  Work scheduled hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
