A leader in the Aquarium and marine research communities, Mystic Aquarium has produced significant advances in the marine sciences. Advances such as revealing how environmental stressors impact marine mammals’ immune systems, and staying at the forefront of marine ecological research that helps promote healthy oceans of biodiversity and sustainable resources for current and future generations.
Mystic Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Program supports animals in need, educates the public about the marine environment and its inhabitants, and promotes our mission to inspire people to care about and protect our ocean planet.
First Responder Training
Sign-up to be a First Responder for Mystic Aquariums Stranding Program! Class will include a basic Mystic Aquarium orientation and initial training to join the Animal Rescue Team. First Responders are typically the first set of eyes and ears in the field assessing reports of marine mammals and sea turtles for Connecticut, Rhode Island and Fishers Island, NY. This class is FREE to anyone interested who is 18 years or older. No prior training required.
