Last Saturday evening we celebrated our annual Ocean Commotion gala at Mystic Aquarium. The event was attended by 525 people and raised $750,000 for mission programs.
Thank you to all who worked so hard to make the evening a great success, with special thanks to the Co-Chairs of the event, Eric Janney and Susette Tibus and the event Committee, Marion Dodd, Blaire Eddy, Mark Fader, Marjorie Geiger, Anne Goldenthal, Louise O’Boyle, Debbie O’Brien, Kevin Rogers, Jennifer Schwindt, Cathy Tabor and Lori Woll.
Ocean Blue Catering, led by Executive Director Kathy Lloyd and Executive Chef Trad Dart, exceeded expectations with the cuisine and service. Senior Vice President of Development Roz Gilhuly and her team, Hannah Stewart, Lydia Shell and Marie DeNoia did a brilliant job of managing the event and raising sponsorships for its success.
Senior Vice President for External Relations, Andy Wood, was the emcee and auctioneer. He moved some wonderful auction items at a great price for Mystic Aquarium and did an excellent job!
This year, Senator Richard Blumenthal was unable to be with us as he has in the past, and so sent the following video welcome that I share with you:
Here are some images from the evening:
Secretary of State Scott Bates dancing with his wife, Lisa Tepper Bates
Trustee Peter Drakos with his mother, Teeny Drakos
Grace Leone and friends with Trustee Nick Leone
I was able to snag a photo with the hostess of the evening, Vice Chair of the Board Susette Tibus
During the evening we shared a video produced by Marketing Digital Content Manager, Elana Deslandes-Murphy which is quite inspiring. I want to share it with you via this link:
Thank you to all who made Ocean Commotion so successful.
See you all soon!
